UKTI Connected Cities Mission: South East Asia

 

 

Join UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and Innovate UK on a trade mission created for entrepreneurs, new to export and established companies alike, to one of the world’s largest and most developed smart cities regions - South East Asia. The mission will run from 14th-18th March 2016.

The Connected Cities Mission will provide opportunities for high growth potential, urban living SMEs and focus on Singapore’s highly ambitious Smart Nation programme, and Malaysia’s sizeable Smart Cities programme.

This opportunity is open to UK SMEs focused on integrated city solutions looking for customers, partners and investment in one of the most dynamic economic regions in the world.

The pre-mission programme begins in February 2016, following the company selection process and if successful, your company will enjoy the following benefits:

• Attend a bespoke international readiness workshop, facilitated by international innovation experts, 100%Open, to build your understanding of local market conditions, enable you to build a suitable pitch to potential investors/clients and learn first hand from other UK entrepreneurs who have entered South East Asian markets
• Join market briefings and investor readiness training in preparation for the mission
• Network with key UK companies participating in the mission
• Raise your company profile in one of the biggest smart cities markets
• Increase your business prospects by meeting with potential buyers and city procurement managers from South East Asia
• Explore exporting globally by meeting with UKTI’s commercial advisers
• Attend in-market exclusive networking events
• Pitch to local and international investors, including venture capitalists looking to invest

Overall feedback from the participating UK companies on the 2014 South East Asia mission was 'very satisfied' including “using UKTI to make connections and help find us new clients is extremely useful and will be invaluable to our international growth”.

The mission provides a fantastic opportunity to understand the latest opportunities in connected cities in two of the world’s most open and expanding markets.
