Responsible gambling at Katanaspin

Start playing

If you've opened this page, you're already doing something right – checking in on your own play. Gambling should feel like entertainment you choose, not something that chooses you. We run Katanaspin as a space where slots, live dealer tables and sports betting stay enjoyable, and this page exists to keep it that way.

Why responsible gambling matters

Every account we open is for someone aged 18 or over (18+), and we build our platform assuming you want control over your own money and time. Responsible gambling isn't about stopping – it's about knowing when to pause, recognising the signs that play has tipped into something else, and having the tools to step back before it costs more than you intended.

The games at Katanaspin – whether you're spinning reels, backing a football accumulator or sitting at a live blackjack table – are designed to entertain. They are not, and never will be, a way to solve financial problems, recover losses or earn an income. The moment it starts to feel like work, or like something you can't walk away from, it's time to use one of the controls below.

Signs gambling is getting out of hand

These behaviours show up before the damage becomes obvious. If you recognise even one of them, take it seriously:

  • Chasing losses – depositing again to win back what you've just lost.
  • Lying to family or friends about how much you've spent or how often you play.
  • Borrowing money, selling possessions or missing bill payments to fund your account.
  • Playing to escape stress, loneliness or low mood rather than for enjoyment.
  • Losing track of time while logged in, or playing through the night.
  • Neglecting work, studies or relationships because gambling takes priority.

None of these mean you've failed. They mean it's time to act, and the tools on this page exist to help you do exactly that.

Questions worth asking yourself

Answer honestly – no one else will see this:

  • Have you ever lied about how much you gamble?
  • Do you gamble until your balance is empty, even when you planned to stop earlier?
  • Have you borrowed money or sold anything to keep playing?
  • Has gambling caused arguments with people you care about?
  • Do you feel restless or irritable when you try to cut down?
  • Have you missed work, school or important commitments because of gambling?
  • After losing, do you return the next day to try to win it back?
  • Do you gamble to forget problems or to feel better when you're down?

If you answered yes to three or more of these, it's worth reaching out to one of the UK support organisations listed further down this page. They offer free, confidential advice – not judgement.

Control tools we provide

Our platform includes limits you can activate from your account settings. Each one works differently, and you can use them in combination:

Tool What it does Duration
Daily deposit limit Caps the total you can deposit in any 24-hour period Applies for 24 hours once set
Weekly deposit limit Restricts deposits over a rolling 168-hour window Applies for 168 hours once set
Monthly deposit limit Prevents deposits beyond your chosen ceiling over 720 hours Applies for 720 hours once set
Wagering limit Stops you placing bets once you've wagered the amount you specified Set by you; resets when you choose
Loss limit Pauses play once net losses hit your threshold Set by you; resets when you choose
Self-exclusion Locks your account completely – no deposits, no logins, no betting Permanent, or for a fixed period you choose

To activate any of these, log in and navigate to your account settings. The daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits take effect immediately; self-exclusion is irreversible for the period you select, so choose it when you mean it.

How self-exclusion works at Katanaspin

When you self-exclude, we close access to your account for the period you specify – or permanently if that's what you need. You won't receive marketing emails, you won't be able to open a second account, and any attempt to log in will be blocked. If you choose a timed exclusion (say, six months), you can't reverse it early – the lock stays until the end date arrives. That delay is deliberate: it protects you from a moment of impulse when the urge to play returns.

Practical limits that work

Setting a limit is only useful if it reflects what you can actually afford. These steps help you land on a figure that won't hurt you later:

  1. Work out your disposable income for the month – what's left after rent, bills, food, travel and savings.
  2. Decide what percentage of that amount you're comfortable risking entirely. Gambling is entertainment with a cost, not investment.
  3. Divide that figure by the number of times you expect to play in a month. The result is your session budget.
  4. Set a deposit limit at or below that session budget. If you run through it, you're done until the next session.
  5. Never chase a loss by increasing your limit mid-month. If you hit it early, you've spent what you allocated – the answer is to wait, not to deposit more.

These aren't rules we enforce – they're boundaries you enforce on yourself. The controls at Katanaspin exist to hold those boundaries in place once you've set them.

Where to get help in the UK

Every organisation below offers free, confidential support. You don't need to be in crisis to call them – reaching out early is better than waiting until the damage is done.

GamCare runs the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The call is free from mobiles and landlines, and the advisers are trained to listen without judgement. You can also visit www.gamcare.org.uk for live chat and email support.

BeGambleAware provides information, advice and referrals to local treatment services. Their site at www.begambleaware.org includes a self-assessment tool and guides for family members affected by someone else's gambling.

GamStop is a free national self-exclusion scheme that blocks access to every UK-licensed gambling site at once. Register at www.gamstop.co.uk and choose a period of six months, one year or five years. The exclusion applies across all participating operators, not just this one.

Gordon Moody offers residential treatment programmes and online therapy for people with serious gambling problems. Visit www.gordonmoody.org.uk to learn about their services and how to apply.

Blocking software

If you need a technical barrier between you and gambling sites, two tools cover most devices:

Gamban (gamban.com) is a paid subscription service that blocks tens of thousands of gambling sites and apps across your phone, tablet and computer. It runs quietly in the background and can't be easily disabled once installed.

BetBlocker (betblocker.org) is a free, open-source alternative that works on desktop and mobile. It blocks access to gambling domains and requires a password to remove, adding friction when the urge to play arrives.

Protecting minors

Every account we open is restricted to players aged 18 and over (18+). If you share a device with someone under 18 – a child, a younger sibling, a student in your household – gambling sites should be blocked at the device level, not just by password.

Parental-control software such as Net Nanny, Qustodio and Norton Family lets you block categories of content, including gambling, across all devices on your home network. Most internet providers also offer free filtering tools in their router settings. These controls are not optional if a minor has access to the same laptop, tablet or phone you use to log in.

Our commitment

We don't send promotional emails to self-excluded accounts, we verify identity before processing a first withdrawal, and we apply a 3× deposit turnover requirement before you can withdraw – a rule designed to prevent money laundering, not to trap your funds. If you ever feel that play at Katanaspin has stopped being entertainment, the controls on this page are there to use, and the organisations above are there to help.

For questions about activating a limit or closing your account, contact our support team at [email protected]. For help with a gambling problem, contact one of the specialist services above – they exist for exactly this reason.

This site is for players aged 18 and over (18+). If gambling ever stops feeling like entertainment, free and confidential help is available at BeGambleAware.org.
